Anjuli Malhotra

Hobbies:  Dancing, going to musicals/ ballets/ operas,  swimming, going out to eat, shopping, watching movies with friends

Background: Anjuli has a background mainly in classical ballet and pilates.  She started out in Core Dynamics Pilates, went on to receive her mat certification from Power Pilates and has also been trained to teach Stott Pilates on the reformer, cadillac, barell, and mat. Anjuli has a B.A. in dance with a minor in biology and an applicable knowledge of anatomy/physiology and kinesiology.   Previously, she has danced with The Lake Erie Ballet, The Pittsburgh Youth Ballet Company, and City Ballet of San Diego.  She has trained with Pittsburgh Youth Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Mercyhurst College, and has attended summer programs with American Ballet Theater, North Carolina Dance Theater, Ballet Austin, and the Rock School of PA Ballet. Anjuli is very excited to be a part of Mizurk Fitness!


Kristin Konopka

Background: Since completing a 200-hour teacher-training course in January of 2005, I have taught open-level gentle vinyasa yoga classes at the YMCA and Equinox Fitness Clubs, traveled to India to train in the ancient dance-theatre tradition of kathakali, and written and published on the subject of yoga.  In addition to my experience teaching yoga and aerobics courses, I have extensive training in dance, theatre, and acrobatics, I am a student of bharatanatyam Indian dance, the cofounder of the experimental performance company, Theatre Reverb, and I regularly perform as a dancer and actress in physical theatre pieces around the city.  I have also worked as a teacher of college theatre courses and as an assistant to Fay Simpson in her chakra-based Lucid Body Technique courses designed to train and liberate the bodies of performers.  It is my mission to address each of my students as unique individuals and to provide a nurturing class environment that emphasizes alignment, breath, and the contemplative component of a holistic yoga practice.

Carla Creech

Background: I have been in the Health & Fitness industry for twenty years, it has been the best twenty years of my life. I love that I can help people realize the power within them to reach their goals. I have worked in commercial and private facitilies teaching most group exercise classes, spin, and Personal training. I also have experience in children's developmental fitness classes creating fun programs for balance and coordination skills. My experience and also led me to develop a prenatal fitness program for mothers as well.

Philosophy: "The Mind and the Body are connected" When you exercise the mind you exercise the body. I help my clients create body awareness, to think beyond just what their immediate goals are, but to focus on making life changes that last forever. Small modifications can make huge changes.

Hobbies: Lover of music, African dancing and drumming, collecting African art and music. Collector of Black Panther memorbilia and HUGE fan of "I Love Lucy" have the whole cd set!! I am a mentor for many community based programs that deal with Teenage pregnancy and new mothers encouraging breastfeeding and support stay at home mothers. I am the mother of two beautiful boys.


 

Bindu Nambiar

Certifications: AAHFRP (American Association of Health Fitness and Rehab Professionals), NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association), CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist)

Background: Bindu has been working as a Personal trainer since 1999. She is currently focusing on in-home personal training for strength and rehabilitation. Bindu is very professional and wants to help you reach your goals. She will help you to focus and motivate you to keep moving! You will see and feel results within your first week of working with her.
